Zero

Oh, the number 0, so round and so neat,

It’s the quiet unsung hero, in the most humble seat.

You won’t often hear it, you won’t see it shine,

But without little 0, there’d never be no 9!

It stands in the shadows, no fuss and no flair,

Yet 0 has the power to make numbers pair.

When counting gets tricky, and things start to war,

The circle of the 0 makes everything feel sure!

It holds within a great place that gives numbers their might,

Without it, oh dear, math would look quite a fright!

It links up the 9 and brings back the 1,

Looping us a round like the earth to the sun.

Though no one much talks of this number so shy,

Its role is quite pivotal, and I’ll tell you why!

It’s the anchor, the glue, for digits to dance,

Without little zero, math wouldn’t stand a chance!

So next time you count, give 0 its due,

It’s not just a nothing, it’s special, it’s true!

The least talked about? Perhaps that may well be,

But 0 is the master key to our whole number tree!

Overcoming Limerence – Street Education

Overcoming limerence can be a challenging process, but it’s also an opportunity to reclaim your emotional freedom and grow from the experience. Here’s a structured approach to help you move through and beyond limerence. Acknowledge and Understand It• Recognize that limerence is not love, but rather an obsessive fixation that often thrives on uncertainty and fantasy.• Educate yourself about limerence, understanding the psychological mechanisms behind it can help you detach from its grip. Limit Contact with the Limerent Object• Reduce or eliminate contact if possible. This includes in-person interactions, digital communication, and social media.• Avoid behaviors that reinforce the obsession, like checking their profiles, re-reading old messages, or analyzing their words or actions. Challenge the Fantasy• Question the idealized image you’ve created of this person. Are they truly as perfect as you imagine? What flaws or incompatibilities are you overlooking?• Reflect on whether your feelings are more about how they make you feel than who they actually are. Re-Focus on Yourself• Address Emotional Needs: Limerence often stems from unmet needs or insecurities. Identify what these might be and work on fulfilling them yourself.• Engage in Self-Care: Exercise, eat healthily, and practice mindfulness to regulate your emotions and calm your mind.• Pursue Your Passions: Dive into hobbies, work, or creative pursuits to redirect your energy toward something meaningful. Build Emotional Awareness• Practice Mindfulness: Stay present and grounded rather than getting lost in daydreams or “what if” scenarios.• Journal: Write down your thoughts and feelings to understand triggers and patterns in your limerence. Strengthen Other Relationships• Invest in your connections with friends, family, and loved ones. This can reduce the intensity of your focus on the limerent object.• Seek new social activities to broaden your network and perspective. Reframe Rejection or Uncertainty• If the feelings are unrequited, remind yourself that their lack of reciprocation does not diminish your worth.• See this experience as an opportunity to grow and learn about yourself, rather than a reflection of failure. Consider Professional Help• If the limerence feels overwhelming or persists for a long time, a therapist can help you explore the underlying causes and develop healthier patterns of attachment. Be Patient with Yourself• Limerence doesn’t disappear overnight. It’s a process of rewiring your brain and emotions, which takes time and consistent effort.• Celebrate small wins, like going a day without obsessing, as signs of progress. Overcoming limerence is not about forgetting the person entirely, but about reclaiming your autonomy, recognizing your own worth, and focusing on building a fulfilling and balanced emotional life. It’s a journey of self-discovery and healing that can lead you to deeper connections and greater peace. I for one ☝️ am so glad I now know what this is I am adding this to my arsenal of tools of empowerment.

A Story Of Oppression

In a quiet village nestled at the edge of a vast forest in India, there was an old tale whispered by the elders—a story of a woman known only as Oppression. She wasn’t a woman by any normal means, but a dark force, a final solution sent into the lives of those marked by fate for misery. Her name alone brought shivers down the spine of anyone who dared speak it aloud. But few knew her true form or what she was capable of. She came, cloaked in sweetness, masquerading as love, but behind her gentle words and kind eyes, her intentions were twisted, dark, and vengeful. The village had not seen her in years. In fact, many believed her to be nothing more than a tale spun to frighten children. But as the old saying went, she came when one least expected her, drawn by those whose suffering could feed her insatiable appetite. It began one monsoon season when the rains fell harder and longer than ever before. The crops were ruined, the animals were restless, and the once vibrant village was sinking into despair. Then, without warning, she arrived—her presence like a gust of fresh wind in the midst of suffocating humidity. She was beautiful, with long black hair that flowed like a river and eyes that sparkled with warmth. Dressed in simple, elegant attire, she introduced herself as Meera, a widow from a faraway town. Her story was simple: she had no family left, and she had come seeking work. In a village plagued by so much misfortune, Meera seemed like a gift. She was gentle and kind, her laugh soft as the morning breeze. She quickly became beloved—especially by the men, who found themselves entranced by her grace. The women, too, welcomed her, comforted by her presence and her ability to soothe their worries with just a few words. But soon, strange things began to happen. In the home of the village head, where Meera had been given shelter, arguments erupted between husband and wife where once there had been peace. Small disagreements turned into vicious fights, and the headman’s children fell sick with mysterious fevers. The once-thriving family began to crumble under the weight of anger and misfortune. Meera, ever gentle, stayed by their side, offering comfort. Yet, it was as if her very presence stoked the flames of discord. In another home, a young couple who had been trying for a child for years found themselves expecting within weeks of Meera’s arrival. Overjoyed, they credited her with their newfound happiness. But when the child was born, it was still and silent. The young mother wailed, and her husband blamed her. The joy Meera had brought them turned into a deep and bottomless sorrow. It was then that an old woman in the village, Sita, began to suspect something was terribly wrong. Sita had lived through many storms and knew the signs of dark forces at play. She had seen Oppression once before, long ago, as a child. She had heard her mother speak of the witch, how she arrived wrapped in kindness but left only destruction in her wake. Sita watched Meera closely, and soon, her suspicions were confirmed. Though she appeared to comfort those in need, Meera’s very touch seemed to siphon the life out of them. The more people suffered around her, the more radiant she seemed to become, as if she fed on their despair. “She is not Meera,” Sita whispered to herself one night, the truth dawning on her like a cold wind. “She is Oppression.” Determined to stop her, Sita gathered the villagers to confront Meera. But when they arrived at her doorstep, they found her standing outside, smiling that same sweet, innocent smile that had bewitched them all. The villagers, confused and still under her spell, hesitated. After all, what harm could this gentle woman do? But Sita knew better. With trembling hands, she stepped forward, holding a pouch filled with sacred ash. “We know who you are,” Sita said, her voice strong despite her fear. “You bring nothing but suffering. Leave this village, or face the consequences.” Meera’s smile faltered, and for the first time, the villagers saw something shift in her eyes—something cold, ancient, and malevolent. Her voice, once soft and melodic, turned sharp as steel. “You think you can banish me, old woman?” she hissed. “I am not some mere witch to be frightened off by superstition. I am Oppression, and I am eternal. Wherever there is despair, wherever hearts are weak, I will thrive.” With a flick of her wrist, Meera’s guise began to fade. Her beautiful skin cracked, revealing a grotesque form beneath—a creature with eyes like endless pits of darkness, her once-flowing hair now coiling like snakes. The villagers screamed, backing away in horror. But Sita stood firm. Chanting under her breath, she threw the sacred ash at Oppression, and the creature shrieked, her form flickering like a dying flame. The old woman’s voice rang out: “You may feed on suffering, but you will not take this village. Be gone, spirit, back to the shadows where you belong!” With one last piercing scream, Oppression vanished, her form dissolving into the night like mist under the morning sun. The villagers, shaken but relieved, slowly regained their senses. They thanked Sita, though the sorrow and damage left behind would take years to heal. The village never saw Oppression again, but her legend lived on. And they knew, wherever misery and hopelessness lurked, she would always be waiting—hidden behind a smile, wrapped in the guise of kindness, ready to feed on the suffering of those who let her in. For Oppression was never truly gone. She was eternal, and she would always find her way back.

Litmus Testing The Soul

Developing a “litmus test” to intuitively and energetically assess someone’s character or spirit is a powerful tool, but it does require mindful development of your own discernment, intuition, and sensitivity to energy. Below are steps to help you create a personal method for reading people’s energy while tapping into both alchemical and spiritual principles. 1. Prepare Yourself as a Clear Channel • Cultivate Your Own Energy: To read others effectively, your energy needs to be grounded and balanced. Practices like meditation, breathwork, and grounding exercises help ensure your own energy is steady and clear. • Set Intentions for Discernment: Alchemically, intention is powerful. Before meeting someone, set the intention to see beyond superficial impressions and connect with their true essence. This primes your mind to stay receptive and focused. 2. Tune into Your Body’s Signals • Notice Immediate Reactions: Your body gives immediate feedback when interacting with others. Pay attention to sensations like warmth, tension, or ease in different parts of your body. These responses are often unconscious but hold clues about how your energy is interacting with theirs. • Practice with Empathy and Neutrality: Discernment requires balancing openness with detachment. Avoid judging the person; instead, neutrally observe your body’s reactions as data points. If you feel an aversion or a pull, ask yourself, “Is this my intuition, or am I projecting something?” 3. Use the Alchemical Approach of Observation • Observe Elemental Traits: In alchemical traditions, people are often associated with elements (fire, water, air, earth). Notice whether they seem warm and intense (fire), calm and deep (water), light and communicative (air), or stable and grounded (earth). This elemental “scan” helps you discern their predominant energy. • See Beyond the Mask: Alchemically speaking, many people have a “persona” or outer “mask.” Intuitively try to see beyond this and observe whether their actions, words, and emotions align. Misalignment can indicate inauthenticity, emotional suppression, or unresolved energies. 4. Ask Silent Questions • Internally ask questions like, “What is this person’s true nature?” or “Does this person’s energy resonate with me?” Then pause, clear your mind, and notice any subtle impressions that arise. This technique helps you tap into intuitive insights that may bypass your logical mind. 5. Look for Energetic Signatures • Observe Their “Energetic Field”: You might sense this as a kind of aura or feel their energy even when they aren’t speaking. A harmonious, balanced energy feels open, inviting, and calm. In contrast, a chaotic or “heavy” energy might indicate unresolved issues, hidden intentions, or emotional instability. • Notice Changes in Your Energy: When you’re around someone, observe if your own energy shifts in any unusual way. Positive, aligned energy tends to uplift, while discordant energy may leave you feeling drained or uneasy. Use this as part of your personal “litmus test.” 6. Ask for Confirmation through Inner Knowing • Listen to Your Inner Voice: If you receive a “feeling” or “knowing” about someone, trust it, but also ask your inner guidance for confirmation. Often, intuition provides more than one sign. Give it space to clarify by staying open to synchronicities or additional insights about the person. • Practice “Energetic Objectivity”: Approach your assessment with an open mind, suspending personal biases. This openness enhances true discernment, allowing you to see the person’s essence without distortion. 7. Test Over Time and Through Patterns • Observe Their Consistency: One meeting may not reveal all facets of a person’s energy. Notice if your impressions remain consistent across different situations. Sometimes people’s energy shifts depending on their environment or stressors, so looking for patterns offers more reliable insight. • Track Your Insights: Journal your impressions after meeting someone and revisit them later to see if they match with the person’s actual behavior or energy over time. This helps you develop a calibrated “litmus test” by confirming your intuition in real-world experiences. 8. Refine Your Intuitive Language • Identify “Energetic Red Flags”: Over time, you may start to recognize certain energy signatures that signal untrustworthy or draining individuals. Trust these as your system’s “alerts.” • Note “Green Flags”: Similarly, develop an intuitive sense for people whose energy feels open, uplifting, or aligned. Recognizing positive energy helps balance discernment with openness to authentic connections. 9. Use an Object or Symbol as an Anchor • Alchemical Anchor: Some people find it helpful to carry a small object (like a crystal, stone, or talisman) and ask it to serve as a reminder of clear discernment. Symbolically, this object can represent your commitment to truth, protection, and insight, helping you stay centered when assessing someone’s energy. The alchemist point of view hints that the properties of gold being the purest of metal helps to protect and seal your own energy. Having a very firm and grounded sense of self is key to reading the energy of others. This personalized approach allows you to develop your intuition over time while ensuring that your discernment becomes increasingly accurate and reliable. Trust the gradual process, as this discernment skill grows stronger with practice, refinement, and self-awareness.
