Twin Souls

In the land of old Egypt, where the Nile ran so bright,

Lived two beings of love, made purely of light.

Their glow filled the world with a warmth and a gleam,

Together they shone like a radiant dream.

But not far away, in the shadows of blue,

A tribe of odd beings with a hunger that grew.

They fed off the light, and the love it possessed,

Draining the glow that these beings expressed.

So the tribe came between them, built walls made of fear,

And whispered in shadows, “They’ll forget they were near.”

The two beings grew dim, and their hearts felt the weight,

Of a world that seemed darker, consumed by fate.

Days turned to lifetimes, and the light seemed to fade,

While the blue ones grew stronger, by the toll that was paid.

But deep in their core, a flicker remained,

A spark of the love that once brightly reigned.

One night, they both woke, from a deep inner call,

Their hearts beat in unison, breaking the thrall.

“No longer divided, no longer we’ll bend,

It’s time that we rise, it’s time we defend.”

They set their boundaries, they spoke firm and true,

“We are light, we are love, and we won’t break in two.”

The blue beings trembled, their power grew weak,

For it wasn’t the light they could drain, but the meek.

United once more, their glow filled the sky,

No shadow could touch them, no darkness could pry.

For in setting their borders, they found something new

That love was much stronger when it shone through and through.

The moral, dear friend, is simple and bright:

Love is pure power, but it must guard its light.

Set your boundaries firm, and stand side by side,

In unity, strength and in love, you’ll abide.
