Golden Eggs – Part 2

Once there was a goose, quite plump and so proud,

Who laid golden eggs in a cloud way up loud.

She laid them with ease, didn’t think where they fell,

For the world down below, they could go quite well.

Those eggs, oh those eggs, such treasures, so bright,

They shimmered and sparkled, a dazzling sight!

But the people below, they fussed and they fought,

For golden eggs brought the greed that they sought.

“Oh, Goose!” cried a boy, “can’t you see what you’ve done?

Your eggs cause great wars, and there’s harm for everyone!

The rich grow much richer, the poor fade away,

Why should your fine eggs bring such sorrow today?”

The goose flapped her wings, thought deep, then she said,

“My eggs? Well, I lay them, then rest in my bed.

I never once wondered what happens down there,

But now I can see that it’s truly unfair.”

She pondered and pondered, then with a cluck,

She set up a plan, no more leaving to luck.

The goose became banker, like Monopoly’s friend,

Distributing eggs with a plan to amend.

With a top hat and monocle, she gave out with care,

Golden eggs now went here, and then over there.

Not too many for one, not too few for the rest,

Each person received, and all lives were blessed.

No longer did people snatch, grab, or fight,

For the goose had brought fairness, and balance felt right.

Wealth was now shared in a kind, proper way,

And the world down below grew brighter each day.

The moral is simple: wealth’s not to hoard,

When shared for the good, it can strike a great chord.

For fairness and care, in all that we do,

Brings peace to the many, not just to the few.
