The Curse in Reverse

There once was a boy named Timothy Drew,  Who grumbled and grumbled ’bout all he would do.

He’d huff and he’d puff, he’d whine and complain,  “Why must I do this?” he’d shout and he’d strain.

One day, while he stomped and threw down his shoes, He crossed a small witch with a warty green bruise.

She watched as he moaned and groaned without pause, Then lifted her wand without  even a pause.

“Young Timothy Drew, such a fuss you create, Perhaps you’d be glad if you swapped your own fate.

If chores are too heavy, if tasks are too tight, Let’s see how you feel when your world flips tonight!”

With a flick and a swish and a sparkle so bright, Tim’s life turned around in the stillness of night.

Now tables and chairs, his clothes and his hat, All started to moan, to whine, and to chat!

“Why must I be sat on?” the poor sofa cried, “The floor’s always dirty!” the broom, replied.

His own socks grumbled, “It’s smelly in here!” And his backpack groaned loud, “This work’s too severe!”

Timothy gasped, his eyes opened wide. The whole house complained, and there was nowhere to hide.

The toys in his room refused to be played, And even his bed said, “I won’t be remade!”

He raced to the witch, “Please, make it all stop! I’ll never again let my own manners drop.

I see now how whining just spreads it around, From shoes to the shelves, and back to the ground.”

With a wink and a nod, the witch flipped her curse, And Tim’s world returned, but with lessons to nurse:

Be kind to your things, be grateful and fair, And grumbling won’t get you from here to there.

So now Timothy smiles, and finishes his chores, He cleans with a whistle, and never feels sore.

For he learned from the curse in reverse, don’t you see? That a grateful heart makes HIS!!! world happy!
